SILVER SPRING, Md., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading lodging franchisor Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) is pleased to recognize its President and Chief Executive Officer Stephen P. Joyce as the 2010 Community Partner Award recipient from ServiceSource, Inc. for his charitable efforts directly benefiting the organization's Foundation.

 

ServiceSource, Inc. is a regional not-for-profit organization that provides employment and rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities and, in turn, the affiliated ServiceSource Foundation works to raise money in support of the people and programs at ServiceSource and its affiliate organizations. Joyce received this prestigious award because of his involvement and leadership as a founding member of the Foundation.

ServiceSource presents the Community Partner Award annually to an individual who has had and continues to have a positive impact on promoting and supporting its many programs and services to help individuals with disabilities develop life and work skills in order to support their independence and participation in community life. In addition, a key deciding factor for ServiceSource in selecting each year's award recipient is that the honoree also is someone through his or her words and actions is the ultimate role model for others in their community for giving in ways that mean the most to people in need.

The ServiceSource Foundation, established in 2004, fosters sensitivity and support for individuals with disabilities to increase their participation in their communities. As Vice-Chairman of the Foundation, Joyce has been instrumental in his leadership and visionary thinking in making the Foundation so successful in just six short years. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised more than $1.5 million dollars. One hundred percent of all fundraising dollars goes in direct support of the people and the programs at ServiceSource. More than $1.2 million dollars has been allocated from the Foundation to support such programs as the Prince William Neighborhood Place, music and dance therapy programs, sensory perception equipment and therapeutic horseback riding.
