During the worst weeks of the pandemic, Choice-branded hotels across the nation provided accommodations for first responders and essential workers across fields like healthcare, government, trucking, logistics and construction. We supported these everyday heroes with more than 300,000 room nights through our special Choice Cares discount.
Employees at the Comfort Inn & Suites Logan International Airport provided first responders, essential workers and homeless community members with complimentary room nights and amenities. The hotel also collected and donated sheets to a local sewing school where students handmade thousands of masks during the height of the pandemic. But the giving doesn’t stop there! The Comfort Inn & Suites Logan International Airport is in the process of teaming up with local food banks to start a companywide food drive to assist those struggling to afford meals.
The Cambria White Plains – Downtown joined forces with other local hotels to thank the healthcare professionals of the Westchester Medical Center through the “10 Rooms for 10 Nights” program. The free county-wide initiative provides free room nights for people who have put their lives on the line to help those in need.
As an American Red Cross partner, Choice Hotels is proud that the Comfort Suites in Carlisle, PA sponsored a blood drive to help ease critical blood shortages due to COVID-19.
In celebration of Mother’s Day, Choice Hotels and Lowe’s teamed up to deliver flower baskets and notes of appreciation for moms on the frontlines, including doctors, nurses and other essential healthcare workers, who are staying at Choice-branded properties. Lowe’s donated the flowers through their network of small business nurseries and growers, and delivered them to select Choice hotels, including The Paul Hotel NYC, part of Choice Hotels’ Ascend Hotel Collection, Econo Lodge in Hicksville, NY, Comfort Inn Syosset-Jericho and Comfort Inn in Boston, MA. Many of these heroes, such as the 100+ female healthcare providers staying at The Paul Hotel NYC, have spent weeks self-quarantining in hotel rooms away from home and their families.
Vick Patel, the owner of the Quality Inn in Sylva, North Carolina, secured and delivered thousands of gloves and masks to the Sylva Police Department, the sheriff’s office and health department. Patel also donated toilet paper and other essentials to senior centers and is currently providing shelter for the homeless.
The general manager, Rosemarie, and her staff at the Comfort Inn in Shelby, NC are delivering food to guests who might need extra help during this time.
These Mainstay Suites guests in Blue Ash, Ohio drop off food and other essential items in the lobby everyday to “pay it forward” to the other guests.
The WoodSpring Suites in Columbus, OH partnered with area restaurants to donate meals to guests affected by COVID-19.
The WoodSpring Suites hotel in Nashville, Tennessee has partnered with a local restaurant to provide rooms for transient workers during this time of crisis.
The Cambria Hotel Bloomington Mall of America helped to send essential supplies to the Minnesota Nurses Association.
The WoodSpring Suites hotel in Allentown, PA donated a dozen handmade superhero masks to health-care workers currently staying at the hotel.
The Cambria Hotel in Traverse City, Michigan put together goody bags for their local workers in appreciation for all that they are doing as part of their The Community Cares Project. They also donated sheets to Seamstresses for Safety to make gowns and masks for their local hospitals.
