Chief Development Officer
David Pepper is the Chief Development Officer for Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), one of the largest and most successful lodging franchisors in the world. In this role, he is responsible for driving unit growth for each of the company’s brands in key markets worldwide.
Mr. Pepper joined Choice Hotels in 2002 as Vice President for Franchise Sales and Development for the company’s new-construction brands. He held positions of increasing responsibility, including Senior Vice President of Global Development, before assuming his current leadership role in 2015.
During his tenure, Mr. Pepper has led the company to record levels of franchise sales and played an integral role in expanding Choice’s presence in both the upscale and extended stay hotel markets. He was instrumental in the launch of the Cambria brand, the acquisition and relaunch of the Suburban Studios and WoodSpring Suites brands, and the acquisition of the Radisson Hotels Americas brands.
Prior to joining Choice, Mr. Pepper served as Vice President of Franchise Sales for Hawthorn Suites and Microtel Inns and Director of Franchise Sales for Holiday Inn Worldwide.
Mr. Pepper holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Tufts University. He currently serves on the board of directors of the International Franchise Association and the board of trustees of the Bullis School, and he is a member of the UJA Hospitality Division Committee.
