Senior Vice President and General Manager, Upscale
Indy Adenaw is the Senior Vice President and General Manager, Upscale Brands for Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), one of the largest and most successful lodging franchisors in the world. In this role, he leads brand, operational and commercial performance for Cambria Hotels, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson Red, the Ascend Hotel Collection, Radisson Collection, Radisson Individuals and Park Plaza. Mr. Adenaw’s role includes oversight of all franchise operations, design, food and beverage, brand, retention and commercial strategy functions for over 80,000 upscale rooms.
Mr. Adenaw joined Choice from KAYAK, where he led the travel distribution company’s effort to start the first hybrid digital and physical hotel brand. Prior to KAYAK, Mr. Adenaw worked for Marriott International for over 10 years, focusing primarily on international growth, including helping to craft the company’s development and expansion strategies for Africa, Asia and Europe. In addition, Mr. Adenaw created or led several of Marriott’s brands, including Moxy Hotels, as well as the acquisition and growth of Delta Hotels in Canada and Protea Hotels in Africa and the global turnaround of Sheraton Hotels. He also headed up Marriott International’s first venturing team.
Mr. Adenaw holds a Master of Business Administration from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, a Master of Science in international political economy from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in government from the University of Maryland.
