Senior Vice President and General Manager, Upscale
Indy Adenaw is the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), upscale segment. In this role, he leads brand, operational and commercial performance for Cambria Hotels, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson Red, the Ascend Hotel Collection, Radisson Collection, Radisson Individuals and Park Plaza. Indy’s role includes oversight of all franchise operations, design, food and beverage, brand, retention and commercial strategy functions for over 80,000 upscale rooms.
Prior to Choice, Indy worked for KAYAK, the travel distribution company, where he led the company’s efforts to start the first hybrid digital and physical hotel brand, and for Marriott International for over 10 years. Indy’s work at Marriott was mostly around international growth, where he helped craft the development and expansion strategies for Africa, Asia and Europe. In addition, Indy created or led several of Marriott’s brands, including Moxy Hotels, the acquisition and growth of Delta Hotels in Canada and Protea Hotels in Africa, and lastly, the global turnaround of Sheraton Hotels. Indy also led Marriott International’s first venturing team. In-between his experiences in travel, Indy also worked for a local nonprofit. Indy holds an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, an MSc (Economics) from the London School of Economics and a BA from the University of Maryland.
Indy is the father of two fast-growing girls (Sophie and Liya). They all share a common love of travel, Premier League Football and walking the many hills of Arlington, VA.
