"While gas prices have come down a bit lately, they're still three times what they were a few years ago," said Chris Malone, chief marketing officer for Choice Hotels. "By lightening the gas price burden, we expect to make travel more affordable and enjoyable for our guests."
This fall, when guests book their qualifying stay through choicehotels.com or 800.4CHOICE and join the Choice Privileges reward program, they'll earn reward points for each stay. Consumers can earn this reward up to five times, for a total of $250 in gas cards, for stays with arrival from September 1 through November 30, 2008.
"Members were enthusiastic in their response to our gas promotion this summer, and with the price of gas still a timely issue, we knew it made sense to offer up to $250 in free gas this fall," said Bill Carlson, senior vice president of marketing for Choice.
